Fuel cutoff solenoid

Gentlemen; My 1999 1845C dies randomly when I'm using it. I suspect the remote fuel shut off solenoid, but haven't been able to verify it. My question is: Has anyone put a pull cable on the linkage to eliminate the electric solenoid circuit. I did this on my 1994 Dodge pickup and it worked wonderfully.

Depends on the type of solenoid. It may be out of adjustment allowing a small bump to make it release. If the solenoid pulls on an external arm, you can cable tie it back and give it a test. The problem is, if there is an issue, you can't just turn the key off. If it is external, you can put a stop cable to it too.

Thanks for the reply Tazza, It has the external solenoid/linkage, like a second generation Dodge. It died this morning pushing snow and I just happen to have the bucket down so I could get the front door open to check and it was in the off position.... didn't shut off ignition switch. So I'm gonna remove the solenoid, put a PTO cable on the linkage, run it into the cab just behind the thottle and be done with that nonsense....... monkeywrench
