I tested the alternator and it is outputting 14 volts although the battery would not show over 12.5 volts while running. The only other thing I can think of is I added a power cutoff switch to the battery on the negative side because it seems something drains the battery when the machine sits. Only thing I noticed it the battery cables I purchased to do this is a little smaller gauge than the original. Any thoughts or help would be great.
I have a ct332 that I juste replaced a fuel shutoff solenoid on. When the key is on you can push the solenoid in and it will hold and machine will start right up. It also releases fine whrn the key is off. It will not seem to pull in. If I jump the battery the solenoid will pull in just fine. Is this a battery issue? Not enough juice? It is holding steady at 12.4 volts today when I turned on the ignition to check the battery. I did notice yesterday when running with hydraulics on the batter was dipping into 9.8 volts. or so. Normally it will dip down to 12 volts or so and with the skid steer in park the battery would hold 14 volts. I tested the alternator and it is outputting 14 volts although the battery would not show over 12.5 volts while running. The only other thing I can think of is I added a power cutoff switch to the battery on the negative side because it seems something drains the battery when the machine sits. I had it on the positive side originally but battery still seemed to drain. So I switched it to negative the other day. Only thing I noticed it the battery cables I purchased to do this is a little smaller gauge than the original. Any thoughts or help would be great.
