The advantage for tracks over tires are inconcievable. Just trust me when I say that I will always own a track machine. The countless flat tires in the worst possible places suck!!!!!!!!! With tracks just keep on swimming. I once had a piece of 3/8" rebar stuck thru the tracks and my joke always was " Hey look, I got a flat". Dont be frightened by track machines though. I purchased my first track machine out of the rental fleet. So God knows what happened to it before I got it. Truth be told I also ran my 864G flat out and didn't turn any work down. So in effect, even though I own the machine and I am a very good and resposible owner. I know that I contributed to the extra maintence and repairs neccessary. I took one look at the over the tire rubber tracks and was profoundly dissapointed with set up cost and possible hazards when you pick up bad stuff between track and tire. What happens when you grind #2 recycled concrete in that mess. Looks like more expense and hassle. At least with rubber tracks and steel undecarrige and drive sprockets, you might hear some horrendous noises from the track but keep the tension right and all you have is large rocks being made into smaller rocks. Grind away! The only thing to be timid about is the extra $20K for the T series machine. Make no mistake I will.................. have my T-300.
