bottom lift bushings loose

I have seen these bushings tightened up by cutting the top and dropping it down and welding it back in place. is this normal repair ? Seemed a little mickey mouse. What is the recommended procedure for this repair? Is it normal to see this looseness at 2500 hours? Or is it just lack of maint(grease)? thanks george

It sounds like a lack of grease and hard wearing conditions.
If you can give pictures of the area you are working on, i'm sure we can give better advise.
