Now it is doing the same thing, but won't start at all, I push the start button, it cranks 1 or 2 cycles then quits. Tonight, when trying to start it I manually held the injector valve open and jumped the solenoid and then it did crank, and smoked a lot but I wouldn't start. I didn't want to drain the battery and had not cycled the glow plugs. But it did fire. But what is stopping it from cranking in order to start? It has a new battery, new starter and I switched the starter relay with the glow plug relay and it didn't make a difference. FYI it is 40 degrees out.</blockquote>
