I am looking for information about serial munbers on asv md 70's I have one manufactured in Marcell Mn. It looks like the serial munber is PT 84 0DWDD, A call to a couple of Asv dealers resulted in no success for that serial number. I was wondering if being manufactured in Marcell means that it is an older Asv? There is also an upside down 481P about three inches to the left of the above number Also I was told that if I replace one Danfoss drive motor I had to replace both as there would be problems later on? Is that right?

I found out that the O is a C in the serial No and it is a 1993 Asv. I have to thank Dawn at the ASV headquarters in Grand Rapids Mn for her patience and diligence. I had been given a totally differnt serial number from the person I purchased the machine from, hence wondering what was up and no one seemed to know that the machine existed. I also found out that there is a pump that drives the Danfoss motor that needs to be done at the same time or one could have problems.

If a motor spits its guts out it can put metal in the system that will damage the pump. Same if the pump goes and it could harm the motor. It could be why they want you to replace both?
I hope you get your issue sorted out.

Thank you, that seems very logical, and I did get my issue sorted out. Thanks to Dawn at ASV headquarters. We had to go through different versions on the numbers to finally key in on the year of the machine. The Correct number is an 84 followed by the alphabet numbers. We were keying on in on an 840 number which matched the machine as a 97, however the 84 number identifies the machine as a 93. That has resulted in more headaches as I am now trying to get the person who sold me the machine to make things right. Again thank you.
