I've owned both but it's been too long to remember what each exhaust looked like. The older 642 was Ford the later was Mitsubishi. If I remember correctly the Ford had the exhaust on the right and the Mitsubishi had it on the left as you are looking from the back of the machine.Here is a link to the parts catalog.
