I thought I had slapping chains, those may still be part of the issue but are these parking brake discs suppose to flit like this??? It looks like the dogs are hitting the guide plate
Before I go ordering chain, how much slop should be in these ??

Thanks

I think you should invest in a service manual, it might save you money in the long run!
they can be had in many ways, from bobcat, to places like ebay, and in both down load and hard copy ones!
JUST make sure you get one based on your exact YR model machine, as many models from bobcat have run for long time frames and as such, they updated things or modified things, and service manuals are YR model specific!

no bash meant here by me either,

just saying there worth having on hand for when things pop up and your not then waiting on someone to hopefully reply in a forum!

lots of goo guys here that help, but there not always about!

and when ever you replace chain, your supposed to replace sprockets at same time, as OLD chain stretches and as such causes different wear and groves in sprockets
I am NOT saying you HAVE to replace both , just saying, the are proper ways to correct issues and then short cuts(we all use at times to save $$$ )

I DON"T own any Bobcat skid steers so cannot say on other details for you, but thought this MIGHT offer some help of food for thought for you!

Those disks shouldn't be loose like that. It appears your blocks/pads/linkage are all missing.
This whole parking brake was custom built by the previous owner, (who should never touch a wrench).
The electronic solenoid was “modified” plunger left in to drop the block down onto the detents of the disc, which works and stops the machine. Operated by a mechanically crafted handle that lifts the plunger to release it. Under the cover there are no pads, simply a steel block that drops into the notches of the discs. The discs do ride in the guide plates, I’m sure that’s the scraping and clanging I’m hearing. After taking it apart, although noisy it looks to work and appear to be ok. But I don’t like backyard crafting like that.
This machine was completely stripped of ALL electronics. I’m in the process of putting enough back in properly to at min have aux and hi flow hydraulics. I guess the parking brake can stay manual if need be, there’s no more boss which is fine I have my own gauges wired in.
As far as the chains they don’t seem bad, lil slack but not enough for them to get near the roof of the case, I’ll add a pic of the sprockets, they actually look like minimal to no wear. I think for now I’m gonna leave the chains be.
