2015 s570 Doosan with 550hrs. Started this morning and let run for 5-10 minutes and went to change from bucket to push bar. Set rpm to 1500 and moved into position and it felt sluggish trying to turn. Increased rpm to 1800 and it struggled to increase rpm and started smoking black from exhaust. Trying to turn the rpm dropped and hydraulics struggling to open bobtach.

No codes, all fluids good, machine over serviced at 100hr intervals with bobcat filters. Last service 40hrs ago with engine oil, fuel filter, hydraulic filters changed. Air filters were clean. Machine gets used maybe 5hrs a week mostly pushing vehicles in/out of shop and hauling scrap metal and garbage out of shop.

It feels like aux are active with hydraulic pressure holding machine back but if I activate aux. hydraulics the machine nearly stalls.

Runs normal and clean below 1500rpm until I try moving or using loader

Anyone have any idea where I should start looking?

look at the air intake and make sure nothing has built a nest in there restricting the air flow, if that is clean if you can get to the turbo ,try spinning the turbine to make sure it is free.

Does it make a whistling noise? Could be the Boost Hose from the Turbo, the like to get brittle and break. Would make the Engine smoke and have no Power.

I have a 26 year old New Holland 885 and upon start up it really blows out the black smoke. I let it Idle at 1200 for about 3-4 minutes and the smoke goes away staying clear. But operating at 1800 rpm it has full power. My guess is the initial development of the black exhaust is due to either piston rings or valves and seats letting extra diesel slip passed.

Not by a Doosan Engine with 550 hours

I would never say never , as any brand can have a bad one out there, but agree odds are low

I was wondering if maybe you got BAD fuel some how?
sine it recently started on you!
fuel filters good?

Yeah filter, found about a half a cubic inch of black crud in the bottom of the glass filter. Then the fuel filter was changed.

I never saw a Doosan Engine, with less then 600 hours, with bad piston rings or so.
And I worked 10 years for Bobcat.
It is possible that the Delphi Fuel System took a crap but I would check out first the cheap and quick to check stuff first!

I wasn't disagreeing with you on the engine NOT being bad
but I also, know,. anything can happen in todays world too!

and as for checking g cheaper things first I also agree, which is why I asked about condition of fuel

I have seen bad fuel do a lot of things
and have had first hand experience as well as klnow of others that, have gotten bad fuel from GOOD locations, as well , as had , HUMM< lets say Unhappy people put things in fuel tanks, that also caused issues!

No worries, I was mainly answering to JimAnthony.
I would agree with the fuel, but usually when you have bad fuel the engine bogs down or even dies.
Black smoke indicates usually by these engines that something is wrong with the Turbo or Air Intake.

Sorry for the late response but problem was found. Turbine shaft broke on turbo. No warning, no issues prior, just broke. New turbo installed and running like new again.

Have no reason why it sheared. Machine worked normal the day before and lost power the next day. Checked exhaust system for debris / restrictions with nothing found. I can only attribute it to being a faulty turbo shaft from factory.

Can you show me the fins of the inlet turbine?

Didnt take a picture of that side as there was no damage. Air side of turbo never touched housing and turbine looked normal. Ive since sent back the turbo core
