Oil Pan Gasket

Hey, Has anyone replaced their oil pan gasket yet? I have a 99 873 with my oil pan leaking pretty good, had Bobcat come to quote on replacing it; some really young guy came and said the whole engine has to be taken out and he gave me a long story about how hard it is... in the end I had to pay a bill for him to tell me a story about how he pretty well didnt want to do it and still no estimate for replacing it. Once the snow stops I'm going to be pulling it apart but looking for some tips from anyone that has done it. Thanks
