Case 1845C Float Function

I have done some research on trying to engage the float function for the bucket on the case 1845C and it seems that it does exist however if it doesn't work then the detents tend to get stuck and do not engage. Is there anything else I am missing? I am going to try to access the control value and clean out the detents but just wanted to make sure I try everything while I am cleaning it out. Thanks!

We've had the float quit working on an 1835B and it was rust in the detent mechanism that was the problem. On those machines the float detent is way on the back of the valve block and pretty easy to disassemble and clean.

Different style valves were used over the years, external and internal style detents.
