Hey all, I got a case 1740 skid steer awhile back and just had a couple of questions I'm hoping someone could help me with.

1) Is both sides Diesel gas fill tanks? My previous skid was one side gas and one side hydraulic fluid, this one has both sides labeled as Diesel and it does smell like diesel when I open the cap, but if both sides are diesel, where do I fill the hydraulic fluid? Is it that knob sticking out next to the diesel fill cap?
2) What are the floor pedal and left side bar for? I think maybe the auxiliary attachments maybe?
3) Is there a way to put the skid steer into "neutral"? My previous skid had a lever to engage the drive pump but it doesn't appear this one has one so it makes it hard to start unless I'm missing something

Both side tank hold diesel fuel, petal controls one of you external hydraulics, the left lever controls your variable speed and there is no neutral. Had mine for 30 years! Call me if you have any more questions: 234-308-3733

Hi Bill
could you tell me please what oil you use for hydraulics . Hydraulic oil or transmission oil?
Also how tight should I tighten springs on top reaves pulley. I dont want slippage but dont want to pull too hard against lower pulley
Thanks kevin
