My husband changed the fuel filter in his 843 diesel last year, had trouble getting it restarted after, but finally did, let it sit all winter, started it the other day, ran a little bit, quit and now won't start. Any ideas?

Could be multiple things, blocked filter, rotted off fuel line in the fuel tank.
Is it puffing smoke while cranking?
Is the primer bulb firm? give it a few squeezes to prime the pump.

No puffing, just turns over and won't start. Lost it's prime and don't know how to prime. Did the primer pump on the side of the motor. The line in fuel cell is good. They are wondering if there is a screw to loosen to prime.

I'm not real familiar with the 843's but a lot of bobcats have a primer screw on top of the fuel filter housing. The screw has a hole in it for fuel to squirt out from the side so no need to remove the screw, just loosen it up and use the primer bulb to fill the filter. When a steady stream of fuel comes from the screw tighten it up. It works best with 2 people so one can keep priming the bulb as the other fires the machine at the same time. This isn't 100% necessary, but sometimes a machine can be a bit fussy so having someone priming can be helpful. Repeat if necessary.
