Engine is solidly locked-up, looking like an on-site rebuild. Will pull it to high-ground and build a shed around it first. Where might I get the how-to repair guide that I will need?

I will have to wait for low water and equipment to skid it out. In the meantime what could I do to prepare, I have some tools and am looking for more. Do not have repair manuals, ( helped to rebuild a few gas engines with good results), so I know it will require tools, manuals, parts, skills...

I took my L 565 in to a fast stream, got sideways on a boulder, water went in the air inlet . Something went "thump-a-toink. Hand winched it to a gravel bar built a coffin dam, now working in 3" of cool Colorado runoff. Two days of it. No other equipment available. Charged up the battery...

New glow plugs got hot, L565 starting quick & running good, back to moving flood debris. I'll keep an eye on those other two plugs. Probable order a couple just in case. Thanks again, it really matters.

More on the inner tube question. Turned out the side wall was cracked, just enough that over a few days it got low and sand could work in between the tire and rim then a fast flat. So for $36 I am running that tire with a tube. No problems yet.

After I changed the fuel filter, (was over-due & something might have got past the filter). I have had trouble starting engine, air in lines?? It's a hard start if machine has not run for days, crank it 5-8 times rough start, blows black smoke, then runs well; always starts quickly if only off...

I'm still listening, damn that big hammer is loud, (2 rims have a new shape) glad I had my ears protected. If I had 5 guys working I would tell them to do it. That $600+ will stay in my pocket a bit longer. Rock&Roll love it.

Thank you for the reply Tazza. The tyres on the wheels do have rim guard, the rims are just too bent, have you knowledge about getting rims trued. For now I am looking at using a few cans of "fix-a-flat", knowing that will make for a mess when I get around to fixing things right. Trying to wait...

I drive a NH L565, with 10-16.5 wheels on rough-rocky ground. Over time the wheel rims have got bent till when air pressure gets low a tire can go flat quickly. Should I try inner tubes or pop for new tires/wheels?
