    236 hard to start

I know mine starts a lot better cycling glow plugs for 10 seconds or so. Your glow plugs ok?

    Cat 226b

The ROC is the safety margin you are supposed to adhere to which is pretty much half what the machine will actually do. Advice: lift slowly at first and be aware of any forward tipping (in which case you want to get those loader arms down quickly to avoid a faceplant). You'll be fine with an...

Buying a Cat 236B any thoughts

A couple years ago I bought a 216B, paid 15k for it but it only had 980 hrs (it's a 2005). I haven't had any trouble with it at all, I turned up the hyrdaulic pressure but her to work and love it.

Tilting the cab on my caterpillar skidsteer

No problem, did you find them under there and get the cab up ok? I seem to remember now the last time I lifted mine there was a catch arm thingamajig on the left side (from seat position) of the loader arm that had to be moved a bit....I think - been awhile. Glen

Tilting the cab on my caterpillar skidsteer

Stand in the bucket, stick your head in the cab, lean forward, lean forward more, you're looking “up under the dash” area above your normal foot position. In the two corners up under there is a bolt on each side...15/16” if I remember correctly. There will be a couple big washers and a rubber...

Anyone near Millbrook Ontario, I need a favor

Hi Ken: Yup, I just don't have the patience for people like that - realistically why not just advertise it in the local newspaper if you don't want to package it up and send it to someone? If you advertise ANYwhere on the net you should expect some long distance responses. When I bought that...

Anyone near Millbrook Ontario, I need a favor

I'd be tempted to e-mail that nutjob and tell him if he's not willing to throw it in a box and take it to the post office (or whatever) then he should be trying to sell it with a paper note pinned to a bulletin board downtown somewhere instead of on a medium that is broadcast all over the world...

    Cat parts?

To my knowledge the only supplier is your local Finning dealer for Cat parts. You can use any type of filters, air cleaners, etc that will fit but actual parts? Finning I think is it....and there are no “cheap” Cat parts...or even “inexpensive”. eg. cost me $40 for a replacement fuel cap for...

    cat 226

Should be a switch above your left window. Turn key to “on” with the engine off, push the red center of the switch and pull the switch down( I think it's down) for a couple seconds and you should hear a bit of a click of the pressure being released. I just use the med viscosity oil....46 I think...

    snow plow or snow bucket

Until recently I used to use a plow on my truck....every time I plow throughout the winter though the driveway gets narrower and narrower. Not having a lot of room to the sides of the driveway limits where the snow goes, so it just builds up in windrows and you hope for a warm spell to melt...

    pipe/wire puller

I think he's referring to a way to slit the sod/ground open and lay pipe/wire in the slit with minimal ground distruption all in one operation as in those machines that do that very job for underground sprinkler installations? Ditch Witch is one maker of those I believe. But using the thumb on...

CASE D125 Backhoe on 753G Bobcat

Yup, understand the need for 'em. Just not sure where they are or where they have to go - photos would be helpful. Thx Taz. Glen

CASE D125 Backhoe on 753G Bobcat

I don't own a backhoe attachment (yet), but interested in seeing some photos of the “tiebacks” . Not sure what they “tieback” to....have heard that some have a 2” ball/hitch setup and others are something else. On my cat, the only thing that is even remotely close is the tiedown points for tying...

    hauling capabilties

3900 lb machine, add the trailer weight to that and find your truck's tow capacity - see if it's within it's limits. Pretty close to maxed out I'd bet. Does the trailer have brakes? And what do you mean by “small” trailer? Is it capable of carrying a 2 ton load? I haul my 5600 lb machine in my...
