I'm looking for another Bobcat, maybe an S150. Trying to get educated on the terms I see used, need help on several. Can someone explain these, what they do, how they work, pros and cons? 1.Boss system. 2.Bics system. 3. Traction Lock. 4. 7Pin Controller. Thanks Bill B

BOSS is the older style of computer management, it's not something you really want. Parts are expensive, avoid it if possible.
BICS is the newer style, it is more reliable.
Traction lock is a safety feature of the computer so it will not move if it doesn't think you are in the machine.
Can't help you on the 7 pin, i don't use any attachments that use it.
I have an S150, it is a very nice machine, it does have a computer, but it does not have hand controls. It makes the potential issues lower as it has no servos to control lift and tilt.

Tazza, Thanks that helps a bunch. Hope you don't mind a few more questions. Looking at S150 or S160. Are they both always turbo? Are they essentially the same except 46 vs 56 HP? do they all require you to put in a code to start or are some key start? Do they all have Hi Flow aux, or is it optional. Thanks again, trying to learn as much as I can before making a deal. I looked at an S160 with hi flow aux, and power bob-tach, had a code to start, (rather have a Key), 2XXX hours $13000, nice exept concrete splattered around it. Thanks again. Bill B

So it's the V2203 engine, and the turbo brings it from 46 to 56 Hp.
Mine is an S150 with key start, no code, standard flow.
I can see the space to add a turbo to the engine, there is quite a bit of space, i believe they both run a V2203DI, just one has a turbo. I really like the engine, it starts really easy being direct injection.
