So the machine (763) sat for awhile needing service. I had to put a new battery in it to load it up and take to the dealer. I got it back a month later- they had it running when I pulled around with the trailer- when I got it home it cranked one time and then the battery died....... I have another machine here that runs so the question is can I hook these two machines together with jumper cables to charge the battery enough to jump start it?

check alternator. bad alternator will kill a battery, bad battery will kill an alternator. one a battery dies and then freezes it's junk.
What series is your 763? My 753G occasionally pops the "alt kits" fuse and quits charging. Bobcatdan said a rubbed though wire is the aux electric harness will do this.

A new battery dying like that sounds fishy. If it did die that fast it was defective. Sounds to me like the battery was hardly used, only to get it to the dealer and home again. Do you have any power to the machine? Perhaps the dealer unhooked the 100 amp fuse for some reason and didn't tighten it enough to make contact all the time.

Ok- I think it's an "f" but I don't remember. Late 90's I thought. I will try to jump it today and research the other things as I am not familiar with their mechanics........

Ok- I hooked up the cables and had it charge for a bit- hit the glow plugs and it started right up...... I let it run for 2 hrs and turned it off. 10 min later I tried starting it again and got a good not great crank but no fire. I tried again and got the same deal. I opened the back to check and saw the positive cable was on the terminal but not tightened down. I didn't have a wrench so I pushed it down and wiggled it on and she started right up and I repeated this 3 times with success...... I will tighten the terminal and should be good to go Thanks to all for the help
