Anyone know how the block heater plug comes out of the block? I ended up pulling the bolt all the way out and tapping it for a 1/4-20 bolt to make a makeshift puller. It will come out about a 1/16th and that's it. Does it unscrew? I thought whatever holds it from behind drops in and you pull it out. Any ideas? Its starting to get cold and need to get it fixed

Try takeing your puller off and try flipping it out by the edge the element might be hooked inside

The plug is flush with the block, so I cant get under it. I had petty good pressure on it when I had a puller on it, just didn't want to crack the block. Would I be a be able to tap one side then and kind of twist it, then get under one side? Can you put pictures on here? then I can show you

You can put pics in photobucket then link it ......if you can tap one side of the plug it might flip out might take a few try to find the right spot

GOT IT! Tried punching it of different sides, It sounded pretty solid. With the puller on it, it would give just a little. tightened till things started to bend, got a bigger pry bar behind it and gave it all I had and went for broke. Plug popped out and I fell off my stool. Thanks for the help
