I have an LX865 that is giving me fits. Dash lights up when you turn the key. It doesnt matter if you are in service or run mode. I disconnected the wiring for the seat switch and seatbelt at the bulkhead connector in the engine compartment. Dash still lights up. I thought maybe it was a defective dash so I swapped a spare in. It still lights with the key switch. I checked the wiring at the dash, ignition switch and service/run switch. Nothing is hacked up or jumpered. What am I missing?? Think the service/run switch is bad??

Have you checked the 5 amp fuse in the engine fuse compartment? You are not getting power to the safety circuit. If the fuse is good then check for power at the connector you disconnected. One wire should have power at all time.

Thanks Mike...Kinda made a fool of myself. I pulled the seat to fix someone butchered seat wiring. While messing with that I turned the key one and saw the dash light up and I got worried. I guess I never realized that if you don't sit in the seat and you turn the switch the dash will light up. Makes sense though cause if you throw it in service mode the seat switches are bypasses and the key makes the dash light up... Got it all wired back up. Just gotta hook the boom solenoids back up and make sure its working properly. Amazing how many safety systems are bypassed...
