I'm wondering the same thing. I've been looking for a skid steer to do some projects around the house. Everybody seems to want 13 to 15 thousand for an early 2000s 50ish horse machine and then I see a 2009 Volvo on eBay that's around 65 horse with only 900 hours going for just a little more. I just don't know anything about them from a quality/maintenance standpoint. Was hoping to gain some insight from someone more knowledgable than me.

On other forums seems like guys either like em or hate em. Some say the boom flexes and rubs on the cab , others say that's been fixed. Looks like they would be easy to enter but with tracks on them it would not be any fun. Good visiblilty to the left and poor to the right. Find someone who owns one and is not related to the dealer would be the best source.

I have a jcb 175 2014 model, jcb makes them for volvo. Cheeper to buy a jcb. I cannot comment on used stuff but I like mine extremely. It does things I thought impossible. I use a shear to clear land --very brutal. I like the side entrance, and the power, quite cab with a/c. It is very hot in Texas and the a/c will not work in the summer heat; that is the only complaint; which i heard is common to all machines. if i can help let me know. Larry (the cable guy)
