I'm looking to purchase a used mini-excavator weighing between 5 and 8,000 lbs but I'm not sure which to buy since there are so many different ones out there. I'm hoping that some of you reading this will sincerely recommend some options since I have no clue as to which to consider and which ones to avoid. I'm depending on your experience and expertise. Thanks for looking.

All I wanted to know was the brand and model of mini-excavator you were using and how it was serving you. I wasn't looking for any trade secrets.

I wrote a long winded post, but then the internet gods lost it. It is summer and many folks, like me are enjoying it. Search this site and others...you'll find a lot of info. I am using a 2003 331 Bobcat...very happy with it. Almost no issues, except ones cause by me. Changing bushings, two hoses (ripped off by me) and an idler have been the big ticket items for me. Find a clean one, well maintained, and continue to maintain it...I strongly suggest a cab with AC. Makes life so much more enjoyable than eating dust and diesel. Plus, the noise is reduced.
