The wiring on a 743 is very basic, what info do you need? sometimes the connectors corrode and when you plugged it back in you may have made a good connection.
The hour meter should click only when the key is in the on position. They have it wired very oddly, if there is a problem re-wire it to use the power from your gauges, works a treat for me.
