I presume you are checking age of the machine? Do a quick search, there are a couple of threads with the BC customer relations number. They can tell you. If you have a dealer close by, they may be able to tell you. If you are checking for a stolen machine, I would start with the local constabulary, although there may be some web-sites geared to that kind of thing.
