Hi, I just purchased a Toyota 2SDK8 skid steer and I am having a hard time finding a service manual for it. Does anyone here have one I can buy or know where I can get one? Are these machines any good? Are they hard to get parts for? It seems to be easy to get parts for the engine because it is the same as some of the forklifts but I don't know about other parts. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks...

Just google it and lets say you don't have any breakdowns ever and you will be fine. I don't know for sure just going by the results from google.

I can source you one i think we may have one as we used to own one and they are awsome they never die . Ours had 14000 + hours when we sold it and the only problem was front right wheel bearing. The newer models dash 4 are even better . At the moment they are the second biggest seller in there class in australia . i will start looking for the manual i think my dad might have it other than that i can get info from dealer.

I have to agree, over here i mainly see Bobcat and Toyota machines. You see a few exotic ones every so often too but mostly Bobcat and Toyota huskys.

Thanks Bobcatz, if you can locate a manual that would be great. Yes, they seem to be very popular in Australia. Every time I do a search on Google for Toyata 2SDK8 sites in Australia come up. I hope mine lasts 14000 hours. It has 2700 now. I just got it and want to go over it and make some checks and adjustments, but it is difficult without the manual. It makes some noise on the right side sometimes, I am hoping it is just low on hydraulic fluid. I have not topped it off because it looks like it has the wrong fluid in it. It says to use ATF Type F but it looks to have regular hyd fluid in it. I haven't reallu been using it because I want to wait until I have the correct fluid in it. Can you guys suggest the best way to flush out the old fluid? I don't want to just drain it and add ATF and have it mix with the other fluid still in the system. Thanks again.

Thats really the only way. Oil is trapped in your cylinders/pumps/motors/lines there is no way to get it ALL out short of pulling the machine rite down. I'm assuming thats NOT an option. The best way is to drain what you can, top the system up, run it then drop what you can again and re-fill. You will never get it all but you can get close. Don't forget to change the hyd filter too.

Just another quick question. What kind of oil usually goes in the gearcases for the drives? Does it just use regual 80/90w gear oil? Thanks

My dad said he still thiks he has the manual he will bring it with him in few weeks when he visits as he is interstate. As for the whining noise the dash 2 and 3 sdk8 s all whined from new it is a toyota trait and never gets worse or better. Make sure you only use atf fluid as us hydralic or diesal oil will cause dramas. Dad said to run 90/140 in chain cases. Talk soon ........Geoff.

Thanks for the help. I was finally able to locate a manual for the loader, but it does not have much information on the engine. I guess there is a different manual for the 2j engine. Does anyone know what the torque specs for the cylinder head are for this engine?
