Thanks for the quick reply mrfixitpaul. I did check the charging voltage, and it was 13 volts at 1500 RPM. Is this output voltage too low, and could the alternator be my problem? I also checked the alternator belt to see if was loose, the belt was ok. I did have to install a new battery about three weeks ago. I had the old battery, for about two years. Thanks again, Bob

13v seems a little low but shouldn't cause a problem. If I remember right the monitoring portion uses only 8v. Maybe check for wiring harness chafed and shorting, pulling the voltage down? I used to make sure the alt was putting out enough by disconnecting the battery neg.terminal while engine was running, if engine quits there is a charging system problem. If it stays running turn on the lights and it still should stay running. Hope this helps
