I have an SB-200 blower that has been a brute for several years. Last year at the end of the season I started experiencing the fan not throwing the snow as far as it used to (like from 20-30 feet down to 5 feet) and the chute started clogging up easily as a result.
I took it to the dealer and they could find nothing wrong with it. To be fair, I only hauled in the blower and not my machine as well. I've run other aux flow attachments this past summer with no problems but it was just a grapple rake and a set of scarifier tines on a land plane.
I had my wife get in the machine and fire up the blower and the auger and fan kick in right away but I noticed when she turned off the blower, the auger would stop fast while the fan would "free wheel" to a stop. I checked the key on the motor shaft last season and it was fine. Is this an indication that the fan motor needs some TLC? Any other thoughts? Thanks in advance!
Here is a link to a video I made showing what I mean by free wheel...
