New member here. Bought a 2016 S570 new for use around the property. Has mostly seen snow removal, but have done some heavy stump removal work for a few days last year. I've been hearing a noise in the bucket area, and have found that the lower left bucket pin will allow the bucket to move back and forth horizontally about 1/2 inch. I grease the machine religiously, but that pin only holds grease about an hour, then I hear it sliding back and forth-clanking noise. Once I grease it again, it's quiet for a while. Is that normal, or do I have wear in that pin? The machine only has 170 hours on it, but it never used to have that much back and forth play in the bucket. Would a new pin and bushing fix it? Is there any harm in leaving it as it is? Thanks for reading.

I posted a couple of videos, one of each side. With a load of dirt, as I travel the bucket clanks back and forth. I never noticed this before, not sure if this is acceptable or not. It does get better when I load it with grease, but then it does it again after 1-2 hrs of use. I did research that there is an oil seal on this pin, wondering if maybe that is letting the grease out. OIL SEAL, 6631067. I don't want to use it until I find out if this will cause damage. Metal on metal is concerning. Is the solution to keep it loaded with grease??? Grease will never stayin there stopping side to side movement, you'll need to shim it to stop it. I used nylon rod and drilled a hole in it and cut sections the right thickness in my lathe to to stop any movement, that may be an option for you?

Thank you for your response, I appreciate it. I spoke live with service managers from 2 different Bobcat dealers, and both told me this is normal, and to use a tackier grease. One did say that if the "play" is over 1/4", they sometimes weld a bead on the bobtach to build it up, therefore reducing the back and forth movement. I was still somewhat skeptical of this because it clanks metal on metal if I don't keep grease in there about every hour while in use. This is a somewhat new issue, as it didn't do this until recently. I'm concerned that even if I get the back and forth movement shimmed, I'll still need to grease it every hour of use... I was looking at this video, and was possibly going to try some nylon rope. Though not crazy about doing this on a machine with less than 200 hrs, it does seem like it would pad the bucket movement, and help keep dirt out. I think that is similar to what you are describing with the nylon rod, though hard to visualize. https://youtu.be/Q8_sHSc6hJo

I just reread your post IMO a 1/2 inch is way to much for a new machine , I would look for washers or some other shim stock and get it down to no more than 1/4 inch. they rope idea will work as a temp measure.
