RC-100 Tracks

I have been lurking around here for awhile I Just purchased a 04 RC-100 tracked unit and used it for the first time today, it lifted everything i could ask for. But when spinning or steering it seems sluggish, and makes a loud pop once in awhile. I am operating it in pasture ground, hardpack with buffalo grass, so nothing very abrasive. Hope its nothing i need to worry about.

Thanks! One more concern i do have, i was lifting a heavy item yesterday with a grapple, after i let go of the button it dropped what i was trying to lift. Is there a constant pressure setting on the remotes to make it want to pinch down on what im lifting constantly, because when i let go of the remote button it drops what im trying to lift
