Hello: I just bought a used 1987 bobcat 843. It only has a bucket and was looking to get more attachments. What can the hydraulic system handle? Is it considered high flow? Also looking to learn more about his machine from past & present owners. Thanks

It is not hi flow.
It will run a backhoe attachment, 4 in 1 bucket, graple, auger, slasher (if matched to the flow).
There would be more.

I don't have an 843 but this is what I would suggest to learn more about your machine:
1) Specifications for your machine can be found instantly here:
http://www.bobcat.com/historical_specs/skid_steer/843_1981
2) Get the owner and/or service manual so you know the basic maintenance requirements
3) Search the archived posts on the bopard using the search finction for "843"
I'm sure others could give you some specific pros/cons/tips for your machine but by taking these steps you can ask better informed questions.

Sorry, this specification link is closed in model year to your machine than what I previously provided:

And don't forget to do your maintenance on the drive coupler between the engine and the pumps.
There have been a few posts in the past few months that demonstrate the carnage that happens when it lets go.
It is not an easy job to grease it, but way better than the alternative.
