I have a 5' brush hog and I had to cut the blade bolts off to replace the blades. Problem is they are bolts with a hex head and a castle nut and cotter pin. I can't find them. I tried to post some pictures but could not get them to post. The pics show the bar and the bolt with out the hex head. Any one want to help post the pics? Thanks. Ron

Can't help with the pics, but, have you checked with Tractor Supply for the bolts?
Yes and also online. The ones I find are smooth heads and I need hex head so I can tighten them up. Have no assess to castle nut except with a 1 1/8" wrench. Thanks

What brand cutter is it? I have worked on many different brands and have seen hex heads and hex shoulders but not with castle nut and cotter pin. Usually the bolts have a tab on the bolt shank to fit into a slot in the stump jumper or bar. I have seen the a few bolts with no tab and I will grind a flat spot on each side of the bolt head to be able to hold it with a wrench. flailmaster.com has parts for many different cutters.

Don't know brand. It is red with 1 wheel. If you copy the tiny pic link in the header you can see the pics of the bar and the cutoff bolt. The hole in blade is 1 1/4". The bolt is 3/4" x 16 x 3 1/4" long. There is a bushing that goes from 3/4" to 1 1/2" that fits in the hole. So far I have not found blades to fit. They are 21 1/4" long 3" wide and 1/2" thick with a 1 3/4" offset. Thanks

tndigger, As best as I can tell the gear drive on this brush hog has a W stamped on it. Also it looks like "Warn Aubury" stamped around the W. It is hard to see the letters for sure. Ever run into a drive like this? It was painted red. Thanks

Fixed your picture links so they are at least hot.

Wow, that's an interesting setup. You might try Brian Brooks at Brooks Ag Parts. He was very knowledgeable in finding me the right gearbox, blade carrier, blades, and blade bolts. Brian's at 513-715-0531, www.brooksagparts.com :) --- Bobbie G
