Picked up a 1982 Mustang 342 unit this past January. http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a348/dk1machine/mustang%20342/3.jpg It has the Kubota D1402 engine in it, seems to be in fair shape. I will use it around the (machine) shop mostly, and it will not see too many hours in a year I suspect. I plan on doing general maintenance and "discovery" investigations to it when the weather gets warmer.
It has some issues...as do all machines this old. Someone has installed a preheat push button and starter push button down by the seat...the upper control panel is basically dead, and no key came with it. Here are pictures from last week when I pulled back the upper panel......
The mice can be VERY destructive bastards eh? This will be quite a project for a warm weekend.... I won't be progressing very fast on this project, not like some of the very aggressive resurrection projects I have enjoyed reading about on this forum. Some of you have WAY too much ambition! There are also a few oil leaks (Surprise!) and some bushings/ pins that need replacing. That should be no problem for me to accomplish. I want to get a fork attachment for it, and adapt a Myers 5ft angle snow plow to it for next winter. I will post more pics as I get into fixing the issues with this machine. dan k
