I've got a 753G that I'm looking to change out the hydraulic oil. I'm trying to determine what to put back in it. Right now I don't know what is in it. The service manual specifies Bobcat hydraulic fluid OR if not available a 10w-30 motor oil. I'd wager the BC brand hydro fluid is the right choice but I won't be able to drain the entire system. So without knowing what's in there and selecting something other than what's in there are there any risks to mixing? Is there an easy way tell what the oil type in it is?

I do not know if this will help you much but oils of the same type overall are compatiable with each other, so if a complete change is not possible and some is added there will not be a conflict between the two formulas. I had a Case dozer that had leaks in the hydros and who knows of all the mismatched oils were in that thing, and it worked just fine.
