They are good machines. Packing brakes are the weak link, but thats with all LX/LS machines. They are basically the exact same machine as an LS170, but with out the turbo. Machine will be a little underpowered for a lot of dirt work, but as long as its a hobby thing, and not a construction site running all day, you will be fine. Keep the oil changed/full and dont overheat the engine, and it will last a long time. Not sure where you are located, but $9k is a pretty decent price.
