I recently purchased a log splitter that runs off a tractors hydraulic system. The splitter appeared to be filled with atf so I unhooked all the lines and drained them and pulled the cylinder in and out by hand to get all the atf out as possible. My question is do I have to worry about the air in the system before hooking it up to the aux hydraulics on my 753 c series Bobcat? Do I need to crack a line open at first to let some of the air escape from the cylinder, or just cycle the cylinder a few times and then check the fluid level on my machine? Thanks in advance for any advice..

It will self bleed. You have done everything right, i don't think the little that is left will be an issue
