Cat 312 , when two functions at the same time reach full retract or extend the motor bogs down and will kill , we don't think it's the motor , thinking a relief vavle or possiblly a power beyond vavle not kicking in -------anyone experienced this one

The relief should kick in preventing it from loading the engine down that much. Is there any way you can install a T piece between the main hydraulic line and the pump? For it to stall the engine there must be some serious load, possibly too much!
Even with PB ports, your main relief should limit the total hydraulic pressure to your preset maximum.
I assume its only when 2 functions are running and not just one? When one stick bottoms out does it whistle as the oil flows over the relief?

Ya , it takes any two functions dead headed at the same time to bog it down ,. one function dead headed and it sounds normal , he is going to have the Cat man go out to the job at $120 per hour and $2.50 per mile , it's going to cost about $500 to pull up at the job and back to the shop , thats before he touches a wrench , can't wait to see what he finds on this one
