I have a 1999 753 I have been using it to clear some land I purchased. The Bobcat has functioned great until know. The left side steering is no working as desgned. When I hold both handles back and try to drag the bucket the right wheels turn and will pull the machine but not strait. The left weels have no power at times they will work but is all or none. The sterring on the left will grab sometimes and wok. The left handle does appear to be a little on the mushy side. I raised the cab and steering linkage that opens the valve to the drive motor appears to be ok. Is The drive motor going bad? Thanks in advance.

It could be the motor or the pump. If you swap motors and the problem changes sides its the motor, if not its the pump.

I was a little low on hyd fluid in the tank behind the seat. My aux fittings leak a little when using the grapple. I added som hyd fluid. I have read that it is too thin that I should use motor oil. Could this be a cause?

I have not got a manual yet I saw one on Ebay for 80 bucks which is probably a fair price. Would you reccomend that I remove the motor and clean out. I assume this valve exits or enters the block on top of the motor. There are several hoses there. Thanks again.

You'd think bobcat would after all this time make older models manuals available in pdf format. But meh, having a manual by your side is quicker than trying to scroll to find the right page(but doesn't hurt to have it in .pdf format anyway....)

They make more money selling them in book form.
Honestly having it in a book is much easier but i'd like to have a hard copy in PDF form that i can print and not worry if i get grease on it.

I agree I print manuals all the time that are in pdf format(especially computer manuals and large telescope manuals+my union manuals and ect). I thank god for my 14K toner(used up a 7k toner before that lol). Maybe someday someone will put up a website with most of the manuals in pdf format for us to gleefully download and print to our hearts content :p Bert

The serial number is more likley to be 5127----- which means it is more likly to be built in 96-97 In that case the relief valves are located on either side not top and bottom lucky for you!!. well worth an inspection of the valves given the symptons. On the other subject Bobcat now sells parts manuals on cd format and service manuals are not to far away or so my dealer informs me.

Went to buy a manual today just my luck they were out of stock. I do have another symptom that I left out that may be very important. There is fluid leaking out of the cap where you check you hydraulic fluid. I am working on a hill and the fluid is not over filled. I have came to the conclusion that this may be caused by the fluid getting hot and bubbling out. This is my guess. The unit will not pullforward with the left wheels and the right wheels will not go int to reverse. Sometimes the wheels on the left will work but the valve opens at once and jerks and the motor will screach.
