My 242a trips the breaker within a second or two of pushing in the glow plug switch. I have not found any damaged wires. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I would test the glow plugs with a DMM to see if one has a direct short. If you've already inspected the wiring, that would be about all that's left.
You could also just pull the wires from the glow plugs and then try the switch; if the fuse still blows it will be somewhere between the switch and the plugs, if it doesn't then it's one of the plugs.

I had the same problem with my 248 this winter. two of the four glow plugs were bad causing an arc which caused the breaker to blow. You can usually tell which bad plugs...usually they are loose and you can pull them out. Hope this helps.
