Do you have a contract that you have the customer sign before you begin any work? Most of the work I have been performing has been with personal aquaintences, so I feel fine with verbal agreements. I have heard horror stories of work being performed and the customer not paying the bill. I suppose a contract stating a hourly or flat rate would help immensely to collect during a dispute. What about a clause for change orders? Do you have a disclaimer to charge interest on invoices not paid within 30 days?
Where could I look to find a good contract? Hopefully I could get some good protection without having to hire an attorney to draw this up.
