we have a hydraulic problem with our 262b skid steer. after some time of operation between five minutes and an hour it will blow up some part of the hydraulic system. so far we have been through four hoses and an oil cooler. we took it to cat the last time. they put the hose back on (which we could have done). they drove it around the yard for two minutes (which we could have done). they then told us it was good to go (which we could have done). it wasn't a half hour later and it blew a hose again. any one have any suggestions? is there anywhere that we could get a schematic of the hydraulic system for this machine? rshackleford is online now Report Post Reply With Quote

Need to check system pressure to verify safety releif valve is operational. If all is within spec you need to look for a restriction in the system. The restriction will be after the failed components in the system. The manual should have a flow chart showing the entire system. Weak parts fail first but the pressure necessary to burst a hose is enough to burn a pump in a hurry.

we think the line that broke/blew is the return line from the pump to the tank. cat mechanics told us all pressures are normal.

if i could get my hands on a schematic of the hydraulic system it would help a great deal.
