They are a pretty bullet proof, middle of the line up machine.
The biggest thing is to be sure all the electronic/computer stuff is working properly. Guages, park brake, bics lights, auxilary hydraulics, glow plugs as these are items the home mechainc has trouble repairing.
If there is any complaint it is that when the s185 debut along side it many favored the extra 10 hp the turbo on the s185 gave the engine. Because of the non turbo engine AC and high flow hydraulics are not factory options on the s175. Otherwise it will do everthing the 185 will, but at times youmay have to reduce your speed to stay within the engines power limits. I have both a 773G (2000 model name for the S175) and a S185, and 9 days out of 10 I would not notice the extra 10 hp doing what I do.
