853 Engine Temp

I have an 853 that runs very well but I believe it's not reaching engine operating temp. The temp guage reads in "bars" so it's hard to know what the temp actually is. When I start it I have one bar. After hours of running, still one bar. Cab heat is just ok. Where do other people's guages read? More towards the middle? I'm thinking I may need to replace the thermostat.

You mention bars, i assuem this is a BOSS system? the senders fail. I had a 753 with a BOSS system that did this too, it needed a new sender, at over $100..... They didn't make the BOSS style ones long, so the senders are expensive.
Checking with a cheap IR temerature gun is a good idea, you then know for sure if it's ok or not.
