743... Hose question

Hey, so I have been slowly getting my dads 743 back together. The hydraulic system was taken apart over 7 years ago and has been apart ever since. My dad took it apart and couldnt even remember what he did with the parts, let alone how it goes back together. I had to buy all new hoses, hydraulic pump and... well, thats it... but it was a good amount of stuff. Anyways, ive got the thing partially back together. The port block is mounted on the bracket so it is "OVER" the hydraulic pump. I have all the hoses connected... to everything... however... ive run into a dilemna.... on the FRONT of the port block(closest to bucket), there is an elbow coming out of the port block... where does it go???? There isnt any extra hoses for it to connect to... so I am at a complete loss for as to what it goes to. I have the full manual, but all the pictures I can find that have SOMETHING showing it, dont say where it goes... I'll try and snap a picture of it tommorow, but any info you could think of now would be very helpful. Thankyou!

I think its a steel tube that goes from the front of the port block to a fitting on top of the hydrostat pump.(in the middle )

Ok, this is totally from memory but do you have a tube line that connests from the super charge port on the pump to the port block? the supercharge port is the one at the top of the hydro pump in the centre, the same centre section the hoses come out of the pump to connect to the motors. I will see if i have a piccie of what i mean as i don't have my 731 manual that covered this part......
See if you cen send me a piccie and i will confirm it for you. If you can't pist it here send it to taz38sup at yahoo.com.au change the at to @ of course :)

Ahhh you got a hose for the super charge port instead of a metal tubeline. I really do think its suposed to connect to the hose you have made that connects to the super charge port. The one thats attached to the elbow on the top near the fuel tank.
Again, from memory you should have one hose out to the oil cooler and one back, one from the hydraulic reserve and one to the super charge on the pump. I think there is one more too... Maybe from the case drain or output from the control block, but i'm not too sure.
I will try and remember to check my manual when i get home tonight, i'm sure it doesn't cover this older setup but i can only look.
If i can't find info, go visit your local dealer and talk to the service guys and find a repair manual on a 731, they have this exact setup and you will be able to work it all out from that. Even a parts breakdown will show you what goes where, the spare parts section can help you here.
See what i can find, but i'm pretty sure its not covered but i will look.

I could very well have a hose connected to the wrong thing.... My dad gave me this tractor to work on in pieces..... and ive been making educated guesses on alot of it o_O

In that case you really do need a diagram of the hoses, you don't want to hook it up wrong.

And I still dont have any lines or hoses that are open to connect to it o_O Anybody at all have any information or ideas... As far as going to the bobcat dealer. Yes, I did go, and they tried to sell me a book because they said they dont know anything about that model, and I already have the book. lol. Any help is much appreciated :)

the hose connects to the center of the hystat pump on the top there should be a 90 fitting so it wont rub on the seat pan

in the second pic you had the hose attached to the top of the pump behind the wrenches is where the one from the front of the port block goes not too sure what you have it hooked to now. as confusing as the flow diagram is it will let you know a basic routing for the hoses good luck..........Jeff
