Hi all,
I've just bought an old 610 bobcat, it has a 2 cylinder diesel engine with no identifying markings that I can find anywhere. I was just wondering if someone would be able to give me some details as to what it might be.

All the others seem to have petrol Wisconsin engines.

Cheers

I am certainly no expert here but the way the cooling fan is made it looks like a deutz design. and they do a lot with air cooled diesel engines. I see a part # on the intake manifold maybe you can cross over that part # over into a engine series to narrow it down anyway.

looking at that picture again those two studs that are sticking out of the cylinders is supposed to hold a shroud in place for cooling from the fan, that needs to be in place before running to much at one time so it does not over heat. hopefully no damage has already been done.

Thanks mate, the shroud is there, I just pulled it off to do some cleaning. You were also right about it being a deutz, I tracked it down to being a f2l410. Parts seem to be pretty rare but still available which is a plus. Thanks for the help 👌

Just a FYI if you have not worked on a deutz, #1 cylinder is at the flywheel.

Here's a couple PDFs from my service manual on the two diesel engines that were in the 610
