I was just curious, so I took a look at the parts manual and searched "filter" and the hydraulic control valve schematic came up. Not sure why the cartridge valve came up in a search for filters but it's worth taking a look.
Go to the parts catalog:

and enter your serial number. Then search "filter". Then look at the hydraulic control valve schematic. It should highlight the number for the "valve, cartridge"
On older machines the problem you described could sometimes be caused by a clogged brass filter. The newer machines do not seem to use brass filters anymore.
