What holds the lapbar up on a 743?

Malcolm, The lap bar is held up mechanically. Hopefully you can locate the parts needed. In my case, all I needed were the springs and the rest I built back up with my welder. The current springs are built heavier and quite an upgrade from the original ones. They were not too expensive...

Has anyone welded on tie downs?

My take is to go with Foton’s idea to be able to stick with the designed Bobcat tie-down points. The other thought I had would be to tie into the four points on the frame in your picture , perhaps with some heavy angle that would extend into each corner of the trailer box. You could still...

    Bobcat 742 b Stalling

That was my thought too, to check the governor.

    2005 john deere 250,

Geno, you have mentioned three issues that seem related (seat belt warning, parking brake warning, and a boom that won't go up). You also mentioned that the machine moves with the parking brake on. As was mentioned, the boom issue is most likely related to the seat belt warning and is a safety...

    Bobcat 743 block heater

I have purchased block heaters directly from Bobcat (about $45 at the time) for my 742B and also for a 753G that I did some work on. As I recall, the one for the Kubota installed in a soft plug location in the cylinder head instead of the engine block. It did come with instructions and showed...

    742B Aux Hyd questions

Dave, I bought a 1969 Davis D100 backhoe and adapted it to my 742B. At first, when putting the aux into the full right detent, nothing worked. I switched my fittings on the backhoe and voila, everything worked as it should. If you don’t mind sharing, what make and model snowblower did you...

    Turn off or idle?

mine is a gasser and typically if I am doing something else for more than five minutes I shut it off. The added benefit for me is the peace and quiet while doing whatever the task is. John

Looking at buying a 742B. Tips on what to look for?

Hi, I bought a 742B in 2007 with less than 2,000 hours on it (if the hour meter told the whole story). Similar to you, I am an aircraft mechanic as well as some background as an auto mechanic and farm mechanic. My full time job the past many years has been as a pilot. I just use my Bobcat...

    Bobcat 743B lift Cylinder Help

Mike, Fittings down I believe is normal. If you need more clearance, I would check the spot where the lift arms rest on the frame. After years of use this area can get worn and needs built back up. If the fitting attach point that is leaking is the one furthest away from the push rod end, you...

    763 Cab Raise Question

Over time you will find that raising the ROPS is fairly routine and necessary for quite a few maintenance items. I operate a 1993 742B and in the last 16 years I have probably replaced 5 or six hoses. Two of these I replaced because it was convenient and they matched the one that was leaking...

    Lift capacity 743

The lifting capacity is 1300 lbs and you will also read that the tipping capacity is 2600 lbs. you can safely work within these limits but handling a 4500 lb container you will most likely only be able to maneuver one end at at time. Just my opinion FWIW. Good luck and I hope it works out for you.

    742b governor

hi Dave, my first thought is that it shouldn’t have been low unless it is leaking. Perhaps someone added the elbow to make servicing easier but you are correct in that the elbow would affect the fill level. Mine has a plain plug and I believe that is stock. For what it’s worth. Good luck, John

    Tooth Bucket Teeth Replacement.

Years ago I had this same problem. My solution was to find a new cutting edge. A local machinery company had one that was longer than I needed, 5/8ths inch thick (Bobcat factory edge at the time was 1/2" thick), which I think was in my favor. It also had a series of plow bolt holes. I went...
