mainly just some serious landscaping on a couple acres. the post above you has me concerned about them being a pooch. how could something that big be low on power. i understand they have a 100 hp perkins in them?
its going to be hard to keep the oil looking like it does in our cars. theres a lot more going on in a diesel. the oil turns black due to a little blo by going by the rings. this is a natural thing. the standard we use at work is 250 hours on the oil and filter. try oil sampling the oil the firt...
on the rod extension question, it takes less oil on the rod end than the piston end, different fill rate, thus different speed. dont go cheap on the oil filter and not change it. you are asking for trouble if you take short cuts like this. same goes on the hydraulic filter. the filter(s) go into...
i agree with tazza. once you get something in motion, it usually amplifies unless you correct it. try adjusting your control levers. i put mine on stands to adjust. use caution around the tires if you do it this way. mine went from a constant creep to obeying the command,"stay". let us know how...
the twist of the little screw brought her to life. before, it acted a lot like the fuel was being held back like on an engine with an adjustable air/fuel ratio control. she is a lot snappier now. no, i didnt go wild with the adjustment, just a little bit. mikie

the idlers have a seal on each end. it needs replaced. they are a $#@&^% to replace.there is a plug on the idler . remove it and keep it topped off with oil until you get it repaired, mikie
you lost hand controls only? you can still move the machine? make sure your seat bar is securely down but you should have a lite for that. i'll look on a schematic and see if there is a fuse you could have blown. i'll get back tonite and see if you had any luck. mikie
