    I need a trailer?

I am with John on this one. Some officers out there just interpret things their way and there is not a whole lot you can do about it without hiring a lawyer and going to court. The thing that has helped me the most is to make the load look proper. By this I mean that everything is...

    300 Series John Deere

I hadn't even thought of what would happen if the battery went dead. As far as service accessibility the design issue can play a huge role. Hopefully I will not have any more problems with anything though. But I can only expect so much from a machine I purchased for $5,000 with an included crate...

    300 Series John Deere

I own a JD 240. I actually had to assemble the entire machine from a pile of parts. I didn't think it was bad to work on at all. Electrical system is very simple and I didn't have trouble getting to any parts or assembling anything. As far as maintenance, I don't know what would be hard. There...

    Injector Pump on 743B

I would think that it should be able to spin the tires before the motor boggs. I don't know if I have ever driven a 743 though. They are a little smaller and as such their abilities will be different. As far as the fuel leak, depending on where it is leaking from it may cause a significant loss...

    lake bed

Well, things went pretty well. I started from the shore line and started digging down into the silt. This kept me on pretty solid ground and I didn't have any problems as long as I did it this way. If I tried to start further out, I would have to push out with the bucket in order to get unstuck...

    Cutting 3/8 plate?

No matter what you do, it is going to be slow. It will try your patience and you will eat up blades. I would seriously think about renting a plasma cutter. Many of the equipment and tool rental places will have them available. If you do decided to go with a saw, the thinner blades are a must...

    lake bed

A friend of mine has a rental yard and I believe he has tracks that will fit the deere. He has several of the same machine. As far as pulling it out when it gets stuck, I'll have to see if the neighbor will be around and if he will let me use his backhoe. Unfortunately my truck is only 2wd. I...

    lake bed

Does anyone have any experience taking dirt out of a lake bed? The lake is currently down and has been down for about 3 months. I would like to pull some of the silt out and use it to landscape in other areas, but I do not want to get my machine stuck. I have a deere 240 skid steer. I am just...

    Antifreeze System Help

Clean everything up. Then go to your local Autozone and borrow a cooling system pressure tester. Pressurize the system. This will help you to find the leak.

    Hydraulic Oil

Does anyone know the equivalent hydraulic oil for John Deere Hy-gard? I don't really want to go to the dealership for fluids. Thanks!

    Source for used parts?

Where are you located? There is a local guy parting out a 7 series. I think he may have the rops still. Plus there are several salvage yards here. Another one of my friends has a 7 series he would probably sell the rops from. Your location and how much you are looking to spend would be the key...

    Source for used parts?

There are several Bobcat salvage yards around. At least here there are. They would sell you one.

    A 743 in pieces

You have done an incredible job! I can't imagine doing all of the work that you are. I bought my Deere with the motor and hydraulics all out. I finally got it running last week. I just can't imagine having torn it down more and dealing with that. Look forward seeing more pics

    853h fuel problem

Some skid steers have fuel drains at the bottom of the tank. It may be worth draining the tank, washing it out with some good fuel, and then filling back up. I wouldn't blow it out with air because then all of that garbage is just floating around in the bottom and will clog it up again.
