    T740 or T750?

Thanks for the reply. The Worksaver magazine I was looking at did not show the turbo charger, but I did find it on Bobcat's website. Availability of used machines here in Alaska is very limited and the tier 3 machines are highly sought after. Shipping of used machines from the lower 48 can be...

    T740 or T750?

I've been thinking of buying a Compact Track Loader for sometime now. Last year my dealer was sold out of CTL's, so I went and looked at Caterpillar. I almost bought a 259, but it was so late in the year that I would have not got much use out of it before the ground froze. I've been leery of the...

    Anyone using Dozer Blade Attachment??

I have a similar sized machine (773T) and my dealer only had the 90” blade. He said I'd be dissapointed with this blade because it was too big and my machine needed an 80” blade. He didn't have one to demo. I can't wait to hear your results. I did try a Cat dozer blade on a Cat skidsteer, but...

Have you ever turned your bobcat over

I think when you add spacers to run over the tire tracks you gain some side stability because the machine now has a wider stance. I have spacers to run tire chains in the winter and the added width seems to help my sidehill capability in the summer. No to mention the added weight of OTT would...

I charge $15 extra an hour for any hydraulically operated attachment, ie. brushcat, soil conditioner, etc...

Do skid steers have titles to prove ownership?

No titles for Bobcat equipment. I was surprised when I bought mine new from the dealer. As far as protection from buying a stolen piece of equipment, I guess you can only check with the police. They may be able to run a nation wide search of the serial number to see if it was stolen. Kind of...

Pro and con info on 773G

I have a 2001 500K model 773T (G-series) with about 700 hours on it. No problems mechanically, great running machine. I an the only operator, so I do take real good care of it and service regularly. The battery might be getting old, if it hasn't been changed by now. I just changed mine a...

Newbie question: removing thick hard packed snow

If you can't use a tooth bucket, try angling your bucket about 70* instead of straight up and down. Also, don't lift the front tires off the ground. I feel this transfers more weight to the back of the machine and lets the bucket “pop” up too easily. I like to put just enough downforce to...

    763 Engine Block Heater?

I installed a engine block heater I purchased from Bobcat on my 773. Real good instructions from them also. Draining the coolant was very easy. On my machine there is a coolant drain on the bottom up the block near the fuel filter. Remove a little rubber cap and all the coolant drained right...

    no start

Is the engine cranking over, but just not catching? If it is turning over with the starter, but not firing, you may not be getting fuel. How cold is it? Could the fuel have gelled?

    Bobcat website ??

I miss the .pdf brouchures you could download before. I would download them and keep them on my computer for future reference. I also miss the dimensions diagram of the machines. Would allow me to see how wide the machine was and I could figure out how wide of bucket I would need if I added...

    Security

I can't believe there isn't a locking cap available. Can you ply out or remove the bobcat emblem from the replacement cap? This might prevent theft.

s185 just popped up for sale in my area

I have a 773T which is basically a S185. I live in Alaska and do use it for snow removal. It works well, but you at least have to chain up the rear tires. I chain all four tires in the even that I nose dive into a ditch and need to back out, rear tires are kind of useless in this situation...

    Input welcomed....Truck snowplow conversion.

I like the spherical bearing idea. If I made it similar to the dozer blades which have a pivot bearing on bottom with a long shaft that allows side to side movement in a slot above, what do you think the minimum diameter of the shaft should be? This would only be used for snow, not dozer use...
