i've narrowed my decision between cat 246 and case 90 xt or case 4??. I'm swaying towards cat because of there easy of use, maintenance and there operator comfort.

My choice would be CAT, I've "tried" to get into a cab from a new Case, and almost popped my man cherry due to one of those pesky long joy sticks being so long. When U did finally get into the seat, the "tunnel vision" was so bad I felt closed in and claustrophobia set in. CAT has a huge cab compared to Case and the reale value is better.

I have never had the oportunity to sit in a cat but the fellow who sold me my backhoe had one (early one) and complained that it could not be driven in a straight line. Not sure if it was a issue with the first ones out or his particular loader. I'm sure if it was a issue cat would have it adressed by now.
As for the Case I've only had very limited experience with old 1840 and 1845.
Over at lawnsite.com there are some die hard case boys from the new generation though.

ya, there alot better then the older ones but there stil a little weird. They kinda hang into the middle of the cab till u put bar down, then they sit nicely.

I have always personally been a CAT fan as my dad was a heavy-duty mechanic for them.

I have an 04 Cat 246 and I also just bought a Case 90xt. The case has about 4000 hours on it and was worked hard and very loose, but I still like it. Has a ton of power and although the controls are different, each has it's own qualities. The Case spins much better in tight spots. Doesn't matter much to me....I'll use either, but usually go with the Cat, only because I'm more used to it than the case. Paid 3000.00 for the Case, couldn't pass it up.
