Hey guys, I have an '01 763 with the Kubota motor. I picked it up Thursday. I was told by the tech at Bobcat NH that this machine should NOT run Bio diesel. In fact he handed me two decals to place on the machine indicating anything over B5 could cause harm to the engine. We've always run B5 and B20 with no ill effects in our rovers and I'm wondering what the deal is with the Kubota motor. The machine has all new filters so I'm not too worried about dislodging sediment from the filters. Anyone here have issues running Bio? Thanks, RJ

I too would like to know why they rekon not to run biodiesel. As far as i was concerned biodiesel could be used in any diesel engine.

I'm actually in York Maine. The tech said it was due to clogging the injectors and injector pump, but I don't know. All my experiences show me Bio is cleaner...so it must have to due with the bio cleaning old junk in the filters and it lodging in the injector pump or injectors. Or maybe Ingersoll-Rand is owned by Halliburton and they want us using dino Diesel LOL

From what I've been reading, it's just a matter of dealing with the unknown. Long term testing above a B5 level is still inconclusive and the product is still highly unregulated. Most likely they've seen some fuel system failures that they've had to warranty that they aren't sure are their fault. Trying to cover their bases.

From what i have heard , the bio fuel will dislodge and loosen "gunk" in the tank and lines that will plug fuel filters , injectors and cause excess wear on the injector pump. I had the service bulletion from bobcat , let me see if i can find and get more specific. Scott

I asked a bobcat mechanic that I know about biodiesel and he said that it's doable, you just have to put another filter between the tank and the primer bulb...
